Welcome! I’m Dana, and Kiss my List is my personal blog. You have probably clicked on this page to find out a little about this site, and to decide if it’s worth sticking around.
So let’s get to it.
Who Am I?
I’m Jean Valjean! If you get this reference, we are soul mates! But really:
I’m like my blog – many different faces, but always celebrating life.
Why should you stick around?
Like when you finally clean under your sofa, you’ll find a little bit of everything here.
Humor is all around us, and I love making people smile with a witty anecdote, wry observations, or random silliness. If you close the tab after reading and you have a smile on your face, I consider it a win.
Once I wrote an entire post from the perspective of my feet.
“Dear Diary” is a collection of entries I may write if I still kept that diary from 7th grade. It was a hit, so I wrote another one.
I survived the Hair Incident of the Eighties, and more recently the Zombie Apocalypse.
I am the mother to two teenagers, so there are no stories about potty training, tantrums or Elf on the Shelf. Gwen and James get veto power in terms of what I write and the photos I post, but I do share sometimes.
My advice for my college-bound daughter will probably never be heeded, but I had to try.
I have said goodnight to my children over 6000 times, and I often think about how childhood (and life in general) is full of Beginnings and Ends. But I Will Never Let Go First.
Parenting is a tough job, and the Internet is a wonderful way to connect with other parents to commiserate, laugh, or simply feel less alone.
I share things to make your life easier. In My Love List series, I share everyday products and finds that I think are awesome. I write about places we’ve been, and how you can plan your own vacations without losing your mind. I occasionally attempt DIY projects, although they are just as likely to be failures as they are to be successes.
I have a whole series about Disney World, but start with Insider Tips for Your Disney Vacation. Other travel posts include Rome, Venice, Florence, the Swiss Alps, New York City, and New Orleans.
Do as I did in painting my interior doors black, creating a wall photo arrangement, or doing a quick fireplace update. Do NOT do as I did in painting your front door or stair banisters.
I love reading even more than I love m&ms. I publish book reviews every other month or so, and I only share books that I would recommend. Check out my List of Good Books to Read for an index of every book I’ve reviewed.
