Today’s Finish the Sentence Friday is “A typical day in my life looks like…”
A typical day in my life does not make for interesting reading material. And this has not been a typical week, as my kids have been on Spring Break and we took a two night trip to NYC. So I am taking the “looks like” literally…
Yes, I walked around all week with my camera, snapping pictures of my feet in various locales. Yes, I annoyed the hell out of my children as I randomly stopped to takeΒ photos. They are sick to death of this blog already.
First a few things I usually do in a typical week:
And for the atypical part of my week…
And because I am sick of boots and closed toed shoes, here is what I wish I were wearing…
Finally:

This is adorable! You’ve got some pretty good foot selfie skills!
As long as I am standing still, Debbie. Your running selfies are impressive!
That was adorable! Enjoyed “walking a mile in your shoes!”
Thanks, Darcy. It was a fun post. When I threatened to do it again when we go to Disney World, though, my kids protested. Loudly.
I LOVE this concept – what a neat way to look at the world. I think I may have my kids try this one out and hand them the camera. PS- you have such cute shoes. I own my gym shoes and a pair of flip flops!
Shoes are (one of my) weaknesses. And I annoyed the heck out of my kids taking photos for this post, which made it even more fun π
I just had to see the feet edition LOL Fantastic post!
Silly, isn’t it? But it was fun to do.
I’m glad you recycled this one, it’s one of my favorites π
Me too, Kerri!
How fun! A shoe tour… Sorry the pigeons crapped everywhere. They’re city folk you know and don’t really care much.
Thanks for Hooking up at the Hump day Hook Up
I didn’t mind – as long as they don’t crap on my head π
This is such a great post to pull out of the archives this week! I love your creativity and the idea of a week from your feet’s perspective! I may have to borrow this idea someday. I pulled one out of my archive that I hope you enjoy, too. I give you The Crazy Lady & The Magnolia Tree: http://thedepthofthemoment.wordpress.com/2013/05/15/the-crazy-lady-the-magnolia-tree/
Thanks for reading, Elizabeth – I’ll check out your post too.
Those are some busy feet!! Love those spring shoes too!!
Always busy…wore the spring shoes for the first time the other day and loved them. Thanks for visiting!
Your feet have certainly brought you places! Wonderfully interesting post!
Thanks for reading Michelle!
I love this post! Love love love it! What an awesome idea to take pictures of your shoes for different parts of the day. You’re cool. π Smiled the whole way through!
Awww, you’re making me blush. Thanks Kristi!
Dana, what a creative and original idea! Loved it and it was so fun to read about your adventure! π
Glad you liked it Terrye – thanks for reading!
I’m so glad to have found you on Sharefest this morning. I just can’t get over how much I love the concept of this post. That’s what I’m going to focus on, rather than my wicked jealousy over your trip to NYC!
Sorry to make you jealous, Sandra. I appreciate the visit – have a great weekend!
Love this! (And your shoes!) Such a fun idea.
Thanks Kim – it was fun to do!
Love the perspective from your feet π
Stopping by from Sharefest.
Thank you, Alison. I’m short so I didn’t have to zoom in much to take the photos π
LOVE THIS POST!
What a great idea. This was super fun and I loved the little blurb on each one about where you were.
I also love NYC and have noticed many of the same things you did, but mostly that the UN needs an interior decorator to do a make over.
Your blue polish is cute. I wouldn’t ever think to do blue, but it looks so good you may have inspired me. π
So you noticed that too? I felt like I was in Carol Brady’s living room, not the General Assembly. And nail polish – I love a funky color on my toes. You should try it for spring!
I *love* this! What a fun idea. And I loved seeing where all your feet have been – it looks like a much more exciting week than mine. I think my favorite may be the family feet under the table at Boston Market. And I’m jealous of all your shoes π
Visiting from Sharefest.
Thanks, Katie. That was my favorite too; my feet like the company. Thanks for visiting!
I love this post!! Your feet did many exciting things this week.
(I might just steal this idea for a post of my own sometime.)
It was a more exciting week than usual, Tracie. No one would want to see the boring things my feet do during a typical week!
Love how you did this! Stopping from SITS Sharefest!
PS-Love that you are a fellow Nook user! It is my favorite toy!
Thanks Jen. Too bad there are so few Nook books that you can share with a friend. But I love my Nook anyway π Thanks for stopping by!
Love it! What a unique way to showcase your week! And thanks for wearing shoes. π
Love your melons, by the way!!!
Thank you – sadly, I don’t get very many compliments on my melons π
What a creative idea. I love shoes, and often take photos of my feet, just because of them. Visiting from the SITS Sharefest.
Another shoe lover – yay! I’ll have to do another post with my spring/summer shoes, so they don’t feel neglected. Thanks for visiting!
Here via Sits linky. What a fun idea for a post! I enjoyed looking at all your feet! And all your SHOES! omg you own such a lot of wonderful shoes. The spring ones are beautiful (can’t wait, can’t wait; here in the UK it’s still freezing cold although today we did have our first sunshine in about 6 months….) But my favourites are, I think, your naked feet: lovely nail polish and the ebook reader! How I heart my kindle…! π
I barely scratched the surface with my shoes; I’m a bit of an addict. Thanks for stopping by!
Love shoes. Love NYC. Love pictures. This was an amazing idea, which I will steal one day and totally “forget” to give you the credit for inventing. Jealous of your trip, but hopeful I’ll get back there one day. Kids are tired of your blog, huh? Something else to look forward to.
Thanks, Melissa. Yes, you can look forward to your kids rolling your eyes and saying “Blog, blog, blog!” anytime you mention a word about it. Too bad, kids – Mom’s in charge.
That was so fun! What a great way to “show” your week. And great shoes too. π
Thanks Amy!
The new shoes are nice. The patterns put me in mind of a pair of Irregular Choice boots I still yearn for (and can’t afford). Loved the post – more shoes please!
Yeah, I thought they were cool, and they go with all kinds of colors. I’ll have to post again when we go to California this summer – a whole new season of shoes!
ADORABLE!! I want your shoe wardrobe. It is both fantastic and looks comfortable. What could be better?! This post really made me smile!! –Lisa
Glad it made you smile! And fashion plus comfort is exactly what I aim for in a shoe π
Very clever post! I was thinking as I was reading the post that you brought alot ot shoes to NYC for 2 days…but then I figured that compared to the number of shoes you have it was a drop in the bucket – or suitcase π
I only brought two pairs to New York – which is excellent for me!
Loved this! How clever! I totally want to steal this idea for a post. (Found you through Bloppy Bloggers.)
Thanks, Marie. I may have to do it again next time I go on vacation!
I meant to mention earlier that I love your shoes! And that one of the Central Park sidewalk was funny π
I thought so too – my kids did not!
What a great idea! My feet are jealous and want equal time.
Thank you π
Dana,
Those spring wedge sandals or whatever they are are way too cute!!! Love your take on A Day in the Life. Totally creative and fun:)
Thanks, Pam. Those sandals are cute; I just hope they are comfy too!
Oh my goodness, this is fantastic! This is such a clever idea, and I really loved the photos! (Especially “like my melons?” Ha ha!) I have to tweet this ASAP and you get the most creative award so far! You rock!
Another great post! Thanks for sharing your NYC trip (more shoe variety next time, please : )
I know, Erica – I was a good packer this time and only brought two pairs!
Yea Dana! Nobody does it better…..(shoot Sheena Easton got in my head) except maybe James Bond.
Loved the take, and the visit to the pigeon lavatory!
Why thank you, Jen. Always love your song tie-ins – I will now be singing that song all day!
This is a really neat idea! I’d love to visit New York and see all of the sights- even the bird lavatory (as long as it wasn’t on my head)!
It was awesome, Gemma. I actually did take photos of things other than my feet, but that’s for another post…thanks for visiting!
Very clever! I am wearing the Macy’ s flower show shoes right now in brown!
And on another continent no less! They are great shoes for walking around – so comfy!
Another great post – inventive and creative! Six public bathrooms during your tour of the Village. That has to be a new record, even by my standards.
Lol, you’re right Tom!
I love that we are rebels!!! Awesome way to commemerate your vacation AND annoy the children at the same time.
True – it’s a bonus anytime I can annoy the kids π
This was really fun D! I’ve been to the candy shop – remember the steps!!! And I love your new Spring shoes!!! Now if it would just get warm enough to wear them……
Tell me about it, MaryAnne! It is supposed to get to 71 here on Sunday – yay!
Have I mentioned that I think you’re awesome? This was great…my shoes are jealous.
Aww, thanks Patti. And you have a fabulous shoe collection!
Dana!! I love this SO much! What an amazing idea π LOVE the shoes, jealous of your pedicured toes, and enjoyed every picture (especially the pigeon poop).
Thanks Julie! The pedicure is a few months old – time for a new one with a spring-y color (if it would ever warm up!)
AMAZINGLY INSPIRED! What a great post. Stopping by from the MTM Mixer and so glad I’ve found your blog. Think I’m going to like it here π
Glad you stopped by, Serena, and I hope you stick around!
So, I almost DIDN’T read your post because you used FEET in your title. I HATE feet. With a passion. I agree with the other hostesses, this is a great post (even though it has a lot of feet) and such a creative take on the sentence AND you do have a lot of shoes. I’m pretty sure I have three pairs, and one is a pair of crocs, so they barely count.
Thank you for overcoming your hatred of feet to read my post, Dawn π
OMG, this is so awesome! I love this! SO creative!!! And man, you have a lot of shoes! Looks like you had an awesome trip. I really do love this post. So cool!
Thanks, Kate. We did have an awesome trip, and I actually only scratched the surface with my shoes π
Now THAT was entertaining. I loved it a lot. Linda
following you on google+, Facebook, Pinterest, and Bloglovin. Whew! Would you like to link this up to What to do Weekends party? This is cool entertainment. π
http://www.craftsalamode.com/
Thanks for all the follows, Linda! I’ll check out your link up.
This was a fantastic idea! I remember that drive into the city, lucky you that you got to ride instead of drive! Also, the pigeons grossed me out a little. Just a little. π
It was pretty gross, and my teenager was mortified that I was stopping to take a picture of bird poop.
Dana, this was so awesome and truly clever. I loved how you showed where you feet take you in every picture. And the NYC photos were amazing and still remember going to NYU for school when I was younger and loved Washington Square Park!! :Thank so much for linking this post up with us!! π
Always a pleasure, Janine π
This has got to be one of the best posts ever! I want to steal this idea some day! Love living a week in the life of your feet!
Thank you Kate – steal away! I just wish I had worn a wider variety of shoes – I have quite the collection and they just weren’t highlighted!
