I am an avid reader, and friends often ask me for book recommendations. I could never remember titles and authors until I found the GoodReads website. This site allows you to keep virtual bookshelves of books you have read or plan to read, and thousands of books are rated and reviewed by fellow readers. There is even an iPhone app, which comes in handy when I am not home and hear about a book I’d like to read – I just look it up and add it to my “to read” shelf.
GoodReads has over 13 million members, so you can link up to Good Reads via Facebook, just be careful about how you configure your privacy settings. Otherwise, every friend in Facebook land will know what you are reading – something I don’t particularly want to share with the guy I knew in high school but haven’t seen for 20 years. And to be honest, I will occasionally read a book that I’m a little embarrassed about sharing (ok, I have a slight obsession with vampires that we don’t need to get into here)…
Another online book list that I used for a few years is Shelfari. I prefer GoodReads because the site will offer book suggestions based on the books you’ve read and your ratings. Either way, an online book list is a must for the organized reader!
And if a site like GoodReads is too overwhelming, check out my list of books HERE.

i really liked Saving CeeCee Honeycutt…although i liked Homecoming better. One of my favorites is Night Circus and I can say that I really tried to do my first midnight dinner last night…although it was just 10:51pm it was incredibly fun.

I’ll have to add CeeCee to my to-read list…I liked Night Circus too, it just didn’t make my top 10 cut. I’m coming to your next midnight dinner!
